So you want to have more than a travel blog. You want to have a Trayle. You've come to the right place. Let us explain how it works.
A Trayle works exactly like any other weblog software. You just start writing about your experiences. But with Trayle you can put all your experiences on your personal map, by selecting the text and clicking on the Trayle button.

This is what you will see when you write a text and Trayle it:
We went to Paris last week. It is such a great city! We wrote a blog post about it on Trayle and wow it showed up on our personal map!
The blue line indicates that a text has been Trayled.
It is also possible to insert photos into your Trayle. The first step is to upload pictures into one of your photo albums. Once they are there you can insert them into the text of your blog post. You can then trayle the text and the photo.
We then went on to Rome. We took loads of pictures of the Eternal city. We added them to our personal photo album, inserted them into our blog and then Trayled them and they showed up in our Trayle again.
The next step is to Trayle the specific places you've visited. It works exactly the same. Write a text, select part of it and use the Trayle button to indicate what is was you were writing about, and where. But now you don't choose "Tag destination", but you add information about the Point of Interest you have added.
We then went to Athens next.
We visited the Parthenon. It was a long climb and the sun was very hot but the hike up was well worth it. The temples up there are really great and you get some good views over the city too.
When you Trayle sights, hotels or restaurants you can fill in the address and let our system try to find the location or you can choose "I don't know the address" and click on the map to locate it.
In some cases we may already know the place you are telling us about. We then fill in the address and the location for you.
If you add more things in one city they are grouped and the map automatically zooms in. So if you also write about the restaurant you had dinner in at night both the restaurant and the Parthenon show up on the Athens city map.
We had dinner in a restaurant called O Tzitzinas. You can eat Mezze here, the Greek version of the Spanish tapas. You need to reserve because the place is crowded.
Sometimes you want to edit a Trayle after you have submitted it. Here is a quick how-to describing three possibilities.
- You want to change the text you've trayled
Go ahead. Go to your blog, click the edit button (
) Now you can change the text that is marked as a Trayle (blue dotted line) and it will automatically once you press the submit button.
- You want to change the information you have submitted in the popup.
Go to the blog you want to change, click the edit button, move your cursor to a place (without selecting any text) in the trayle you want to change and click on the Trayle button.

The Trayle popup is opened again and you see the information you have entered before.
- You think you've messed up and want to start over again.
Go to your blog, click the edit button, select the (complete) text and click the eraser ('remove formatting').
Click submit.
The Trayle is now removed and you can start and make a new Trayle with the text without the old Trayle.
